A 2012 Shiraz from Western Australia commemorating the first every Cherry Rock Festival.
Cherry Bar’s first AC/DC Lane street rock n roll festival was the brainchild of local punk rockers Ruby and Razzle.
It hosted stages inside Cherry Bar and the Alley Bar (which is now a bunch of apartments) and, for the first time, in AC/DC Lane. It was described as…. CHERRY ROCK 007 is packed with the best and brightest from the new school and the old school of the Oz rock underground.
Unrepentant barroom rockers, ear-ripping grindcore monsters, primitive garage beatsters and loudmouthed party bands will guarantee a day and night of good-time, glorious, down 'n dirty rock n' roll.
The highlight of the festival was up-and-coming act Eddy Current Suppression Ring. Lead singer Brendan channelled Iggy Pop when he walked into from the stage during “Precious Rose” and fans supported him from his ankles so he towered above the frenzied full house in AC/DC Lane…
Either that or the complete “surprise act” who played that day… Airbourne!
